Qualification description
This is a qualification for installers of prefabricated concrete elements. It includes knowledge of compliance and safety requirements. This work must be undertaken alongside licensed crane and/or rigging operators. Installation processes and procedures are determined by an Erection Engineer.
Occupational titles include:
- installer
- grouter
- caulker
- patcher.
This qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as a specialist field of work in prefabricated concrete element installation.
The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in an actual workplace or a simulated workplace using realistic conditions, materials, activities, responsibilities, procedures, safety requirements and environmental considerations.

Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work. Achievement of CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.
